Director/Senior Manager of Supply Chain Management Location: Sunnyvale, CA Reports to: Chief Operating Officer This role is core to the company's operations staff. The Director/Manager of Supply Chain Management will develop and implement client's supply chain strategy. In the near-term, this position comprises a combination of strategic and hands on work. Key initial responsibilities include supply chain design from raw material procurement to finished goods logistics, sourcing, and product cost modeling to provide inputs to the product development team. Development and Ownership of a Market Driven Technology Roadmap for the Hi Temp Business. Lead effective, timely execution of the Technology Roadmap. Preferred:Solid grounding in implementation of Stage Gate and six-sigma practices in the execution of projects Market/Business Development and Key Account Management experience are a MUST #3) Director of Membrane Research and Development (Wilmington, MA) This last new client produces a full range of all semi-permeable membrane types and all geometries. These include reverse osmosis (RO), nano filtration (NF), ultrafiltration (UF), and micro filtration (MF). The geometries vary from tubular, to hollow fiber (both flowing from inside to out, and outside to in), and to flat sheet. No company has a more diverse range of membrane products for an even more diverse range of applications. They currently have over 500 employees and a world-wide reputation. The principal objective of the membrane development effort is twofold. One is to continuously improve over time the membrane performance consisting of the filtration efficiency, flux flow rates, and the life times in operating service of all the membrane types manufactured by KMS. The second is equally important, and that is to develop adhesives, that in some cases must be customized for the application, which will successfully glue together the membranes and associated components, that in combination make up the element and/or cartridge final product. The adhesives must be long lasting and effective in preventing leaks inside the element or cartridge. The Company has invested heavily over the years in developing state of the art membranes and plans to continue this support for years to come. Essential Functions: 1. Recommend new instrumentation and methods to resolve challenges in R&D and to continuously improve quality of products
2. Identify and interface with outside laboratories when analytical methods are required that are not in house.
3. Perform day-to-day analytical measurements supporting R&D and Manufacturing Groups 4. Provide general assistance and chemical analysis expertise to R&D and Manufacturing teams
5. Perform required maintenance and validation protocols for a variety of instruments (UV-Vis, FTIR, SEM, etc.) to ensure proper functioning of all analytical instruments
6. Ability to troubleshoot and repair problems on a variety or analytical instruments and microscopes Required: M.S. or Ph.D. Minimum of 3 years of analytical experience in a laboratory environment for a commercial company with short cycle times for delivering results. Demonstrated excellence in the application of analytical tools (UV-VIS FT-IR, NMR, GC) for quantitative and qualitative analysis. Thorough and demonstrated knowledge of analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry is required.
